Message Re: Goofy Contest

I can't even BEGIN to tell you how difficult this was. Ok, it's not like
birthing a child, but I didn't expect to have problems making a decision.
Speaking of,
My wife and child both helped make the decisions in this contest.
They went for cute, I went for subject matter.

As part of the contest, I chose only those that were done this year. I didn't
consider previous carvings.

Ok, so lets get to the guy that gets zero points. I thought it was a cute idea,
but didn't take hardly any effort. Actually, I give him an F+ for effort.
At least it was a Z.

F+, (name withheld)

This is where it gets sketchy... I couldn't decide what to do here.
Infact, If I was allowed to have ties, we'd have a tie for second and third.

These two fellers get honorable mentions. Both are quite good and took a ton
of effort, NO QUESTION, and I can appreciate that. I DO appreciate that.
Good stuff.

The effort in the TTnet logo is evident... that took some work!

LOVE the projector!
In the early stages, this was a sure winner!

This one is a winner due uniformity of the design, execution looks excellent, and it
looks very complicated to carve. Uniqueness and Simplicity of design was key here
beating it out of the other submissions.

This was tough. I know some are going "WTF?". Again, I like simplicity.
I'm the judge. My wife even commented (after going out to the garage to look
at my Z), that it's an uncanny resemblance. I know that this one must have
taken a LOT of time to get right. Very few hard lines, lots of 'blending' to get
the light right, and again, SIMPLICITY. EXCELLENT execution.

This one because it's a great rendition of a classic Z poster. Again, I had to try and find a copy of the poster for my wife, but failed. No big deal. She liked it and the idea of it. I liked it because it was true to the poster.

Congratulations to everyone who participated. They were all great entries!
